The Minister for Universities, Joan Subirats, meets with the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies

In this meeting (pdf Programme REACU ANECA) of the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies –which ANECA has been coordinating in 2022– Spanish agency directors met to discuss the regulatory framework for quality assurance in university institutions and to promote initiatives that help universities to implement their training programmes, thereby ensuring their quality and addressing opportunities for improvement therein.

The inaugural meeting on 28 April saw the participation of the Minister for Universities, who shared his views on the Higher Education Act (LOSU) and received the opinions of the relevant agencies concerning quality assurance. Both the national ministry and REACU agreed on the need to continue progressing on the model of co-responsibility in which administrations, agencies and universities share quality management and assurance, helping to further society’s trust in universities.

29 April saw the close of the two-day session with a meeting between REACU agency directors, with further progress being made on drawing up assessment protocols, as well as on establishing guidelines and plans concerning various organisational aspects of university education.
