European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes
) was adopted by the European Ministers responsible for higher education in Yereban in 2015. It is intended to facilitate the external quality assurance of programmes designed and implemented by two or more European Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) . This approach is based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality a Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG, 2015) and is therefore applicable in the different external quality assurance systems throughout the EHEA. The European Approach aims to achieve:
Dismantle an important obstacle to the development of joint programmes by setting standards for these programmes that are based on the agreed tools of the EHEA, without applying additional national criteria, and
Facilitate integrated approaches to quality assurance of joint programmes that genuinely reflect and mirror their joint character.
In the Spanish sphere, the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU) has approved the “Protocol for the Evaluation of International Joint University Degrees in accordance with the European Approach for Assurance of their Quality, and in accordance with Royal Decree 822/2021, of 28 September, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality”.
ACSUCYL evaluates the applications received following the guidelines of the European Approach, assumed by REACU in the indicated Protocol.
ACSUCYL carries out the evaluation of degrees through Degree Assessment Commission , competent in the evaluation processes of degrees and programmes.
To develop this process, the Commission seeks advice from a specific Panel of experts, depending on the thematic area and characteristics of the degree, which meets the requirements specified in the European Approach. The composition of the Evaluation Panels can be consulted in the Evaluation Reports of the corresponding Titles.
